Date: April 22, 2021 Time: 3:30 – 4:30pm (GMT+8) Venue: Zoom
This Girls in ICT Day, we are reminded that girls and young women continue to be underrepresented in Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) fields. It is more important than ever to pinpoint the root cause of the gender digital divide in order to support girls and young women and encourage them to pursue careers in STEAM.
To celebrate this event, our Gender Tech team will be exploring the issue of gender digital equality in Macau through an online interactive session. Local students are invited to join and share their perceptions of gendered stereotypes in STEAM as well as thoughts on gender digital equality in Macau, with the aim of crafting the next steps to ensure that STEAM fields are more gender-inclusive.
What we will discuss?
What can we learn from young people in Macau about gender diversity in STEAM?
What are young people’s perceptions of STEAM careers?
What are some of the challenges and opportunities related to girls’ and women’s active participation in STEAM?
